We Ruined Fantasy Football. On Purpose.

I thought fantasy football was kind of dumb.

I'll say it. My dad was a football coach. My grandfather was a football coach. I grew up around the game my whole life, and I still looked at fantasy football and thought: that's for people who don't have anything else going on.

So I played. A couple leagues, mostly to stay connected with friends from high school and college who'd scattered. I wasn't invested. I set my lineup, forgot about it half the time, and was fine with that.

Then COVID happened.

My world got small fast. Everybody's did. And suddenly those leagues — those stupid, dumb fantasy leagues I'd never taken seriously — were one of the only places where I was still in regular conversation with people I actually loved. I was texting at midnight about waiver wire pickups. I was trash-talking guys I hadn't seen in two years. I was paying attention every Sunday in a way that made the week feel like it meant something.

I played 30+ formats over the next few years. Online leagues, local leagues, leagues with strangers who became friends. I got obsessed — not with fantasy football, but with what fantasy football could do.

Here's the other thing about me.

I learned to read on Pokémon Blue. I fell asleep to The Chronicles of Narnia on tape. I was there when each Harry Potter book dropped. I camped out for Episode III.

Big worlds with big stakes — that's always been part of how I think. How I play. How I connect with people.

That's Super Fantasy Football.

Same platforms you already use — ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper. Same draft, same scoring, same Sunday rituals. But layered on top: themed rule sets that give your league a world to play in. Factions. Powers. Weekly twists. Enchanted items. Interstellar battles.

We're not replacing fantasy football. We're making it worth talking about.

One commissioner buys the format. The whole league gets the season. It takes about as long to set up as a standard league — and it hits completely differently.

Why does this exist?

Because keeping up with the people you love gets harder every year. Everybody's busy. Everybody's scattered. Fantasy football has always been sneaky-good at holding people together — a low-pressure reason to stay in contact, to have stakes, to care about the same thing on the same day.

We're trying to take that thing — that social-glue thing — and wrap it in formats that might reach people who wouldn't otherwise play. And add something genuinely new for the people who already love it.

That's it. That's the whole mission.
